Retal’s agreement adds Saudi partnership to Sultan Haitham City and its investment aligns with Oman’s long‑term plans and demonstrates the scale of opportunities available to regional developers within the program’s city‑scale projects.

“Sultan Haitham City presents exactly the kind of long‑term, implementation‑committed environment in which we invest with confidence,” he stated.

International partners are choosing Oman because our projects are grounded in delivery certainty, backed by government commitment, and designed to create lasting value.”

He added, “Each agreement represents a concrete commitment from a partner who has examined our projects, assessed our delivery track record, and chosen to invest – a very different conversation from the one most countries had at MIPIM. We look forward to building on these relationships throughout 2026 and beyond.”

The Hussain Sajwani-DAMAC Foundation, the philanthropic arm of DAMAC Group, said it marked Ramadan with community outreach initiatives across Dubai and beyond, placing construction workers, families and vulnerable groups at the centre of its efforts during the Holy Month.

At the start of Ramadan, the Hussain Sajwani-DAMAC Foundation (HSDF) announced US 27.2mn donation to the ‘Edge of Life’, a humanitarian campaign launched by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to rescue 5m children from hunger worldwide.

Alongside DAMAC’s wider philanthropic commitments during the Holy Month, were several local initiatives. DAMAC said it partnered with Dubai Charity Association to support the wider community with iftars at the Al Salam Mosque in Al Barsha.

Every day throughout Ramadan, more than 2,000 people received meal boxes through an initiative dedicated to supporting the surrounding community. DAMAC employee volunteers also joined the effort on the ground, helping with packing, distribution, and sharing in the meal.

In collaboration with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), DAMAC employee volunteers distributed Iftar meal boxes to thousands of workers at major project sites. The initiative was designed to bring Ramadan directly to the people helping build the city, many of whom are spending the month away from their families.

Hussain Sajwani, Founder and Chairman of the DAMAC Group said, Across our construction sites and communities are thousands of people whose hard work helps shape Dubai every day. Taking the time to meet them and express our gratitude during Ramadan is important to us. It reflects the respect we have for their dignity and for the role they play in Dubai’s continued progress. It is a privilege and honour for DAMAC to continue supporting the UAE community at this time.”

DAMAC has also strengthened its local community efforts through its collaboration with the Dubai Club for People of Determination, Al Noor, Omniyat, Awladuna and Rashid Centres through student sponsorships, rehabilitation support, and community-facing programmes for People of Determination. This is aligned with DAMAC’s wider commitment to inclusion and diversity in the UAE’s Year of the Family.

KNPC-Mina-Al-Ahmadi_1000x600.jpg

Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) reported on Friday morning that the Mina Al Ahmadi Refinery came under drone attack. The refinery is Kuwait’s largest and is operated by Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC).

Emergency response and fire-fighting teams were immediately deployed and worked to contain the situation in accordance with the highest safety standards, KPC said.

According to a report, preliminary assessments found that the attack resulted in a fire in several units within the refinery but caused no injuries. The refinery processes about 730,000 barrels of oil per day.

In response, precautionary measures were rolled out; a number of refinery units were shut down, and all necessary procedures were implemented to ensure the safety of personnel and the security of the facility.

The strike is part of a larger campaign against GCC countries that was launched by Iran in retaliation for an Israeli strike last week on its South Pars gasfield, the country’s largest, which supplies about 80% of its domestic natural gas needs.
